Danny Romallotti returned to The Young and the Restless in order to spend Christmas with his son, Daniel Romalotti, and quickly reconnected with ex-wife Phyllis Summers, as well as old friends like Lauren Fenmore and Michael Baldwin.
Everyone has been asking subtle yet prying questions about whether or not Danny (Michael Damian) plans to touch base with his other ex-wife, Christine Blair Williams (Lauralee Bell), and Cricket — as she was known way back when — has even been having flashbacks about Danny, both of them in their ’90s hair glory. Yet, who did Danny choose to ring in the new year with? Lauren (Tracey Bregman) and Michael (Christian Le Blanc), sure. But also one Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland).
Who remembers the 1980s, when Traci was a shy, insecure, overweight teen who pined for rock star Danny? She got to sing with him. But mean girl Lauren – remember her, too? – did her best (worst?) to make sure it never went any farther than that. And ended up with a banana split on the head for her trouble.
Traci eventually had an affair with her college English professor, got pregnant, then tried to kill herself when he wanted nothing more to do with her. And it was Danny to the rescue! See, Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan), you didn’t invent that move – it’s a classic! Danny married Traci, but things never quite worked out between them in the long term.
We’re supposed to be rooting for a Danny and Christine reunion, but, unless there was an announcement and we missed it…Chris is still married to Paul Williams (Doug Davidson). So she is what we call: Unavailable.
You know who isn’t married? Traci. You know who is available? Traci. You know who deserves a love interest to make up for all the crap she’s put up with quavering chin stoicism? Traci. So make it happen, show! You owe us!
