Soap Hub Performer Of The Week For Y&R: Lauralee Bell

The Young and the Restless viewers know that Christine “Cricket” Williams had quite a past before she settled down with Paul Williams. This week, she had some time to reconnect with her former flame, Danny Romalotti. For her performance, Soap Hub Performer of the Week honors for Y&R is presented to Christine’s portrayer, Lauralee Bell, with an honorable mention to Danny’s portrayer, Michael Damian.

This week, Christine not only helped Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) with their potential adoption, but she also managed to give Danny a ride to the airport as he prepared to leave Genoa City. We especially loved the proud look Bell gave Christine as she talked to Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) about why she got into her line of work in the first place.

However, Lauralee Bell truly shone as Christine — or Cricket — during her scenes with Danny. It was refreshing to see her smiling and happy as they reminisced. However, even better was her marked change in demeanor, facial expressions, and tone of voice as Christine revealed how hurt she still was over the mess that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) made of their marriage and relationship. It’s safe to say that Christine is not at all over Phyllis trying to run her and Paul over.

The flashbacks were absolutely lovely. It was great to see Bell’s Christine of yesteryear, and her performances were rock solid in each clip. Bravo on an excellent performance this week, and we hope to see much more of Bell as Christine in the future.

As for Damian, having Danny back was a breath of fresh air. The actor gave Danny his trademark gorgeous grin, and he managed to infuse a lot of rockstar swagger into his portrayal this week. We especially loved the softness he had as Danny caught up with Christine. We also hope to see more Damian back as Danny soon.
