On the Road Again: Where Will Y&R’s Harrison Locke Live Now?

The Young and the Restless has had some wonderful stepparents over the years. Two of Victor Newman’s biological children, Adam Newman and Abby Newman Abbott, were raised by stepfathers who treated them better than Victor could ever dream of. Nicholas Newman loved Sharon Rosales’s daughter, Cassie Newman, like she was his own, and he ultimately adopted her. The same goes for Danny Romalotti and Daniel Romalotti. So we applaud Summer Newman Abbott’s devotion to Harrison Locke. But up to a point.

But there is a difference between most of the above examples and Harrison (Kellen Enriquez). Most of the above examples were raised by their stepparent from birth…alongside their biological parent. That’s not the case with Harrison.

He spent the first four years of his life with his mother, Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner), and his father, Ashland Locke (Robert Newman). Then Tara was carted off to prison, and Ashland first, faked death…then actually died. Poor little Harrison was dumped on a total stranger, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), who he was told was his daddy. Then Kyle married Summer (Allison Lanier) and told Harrison to call her Mommy. Then they all moved to Italy. Then they all moved back to Genoa City.

Something New For Harrison Locke

Now, Summer thinks she and Kyle need a break from each other — thanks to the strife between their mothers (oh, yeah, Harrison also got a Didi, Kyle’s mother, Diane Jenkins [Susan Walters], recently, too). She’s going back to Europe for a bit…and she wants to take Harrison with her.

Say what now? Just how much moving around is this poor tyke supposed to take? He must be so confused.

Summer calls Harrison her “son,” and thinks she has as much of a right to take him wherever she likes as Kyle does. (Did they ever get legal custody of him, or is this all still some weird, ad-hoc arrangement?) But, let’s not forget, Harrison has a mother. Does Tara get any say in where her boy goes and with whom? Does Harrison?
