All the times Victor nearly died on The Young and the Restless

Victor Newman is like a cat with nine lives. During his time on “The Young and the Restless,” he hasn’t had the easiest life. For someone who’s so rich and powerful, he’s been a target by some very dangerous and deranged people.

Ian Ward’s (Ray Wise) most recent shooting got us thinking about all the other times people tried to off The Great Victor Newman (Eric Braeden)!

The Devious Secretary
Eve Howard (Margaret Mason) was obsessed with getting her hands on the Newman fortune and thought killing Victor would do the trick. For months, she poisoned his food hoping it would lead to his death. Luckily, an antidote was found and he survived.

Nikki’s New Man
Victor’s dangerous attempt to save Nikki from the clutches of Rick Daros (Randy Holland) nearly killed him. During the struggle for her freedom, Rick shot Victor in the groin with a spear gun! Victor survived, but it almost left him permanently impotent.

His Good Buddy Jack
Jack (Peter Bergman) nearly left Victor for dead in the mid-80’s. Victor fell to the floor unconscious during one of their many fierce arguments, and Jack left him for dead. Eventually, Jack’s conscience took over, and he called paramedics to the scene.

Jack’s Psycho Ex-Wife
Jack’s one-time wife Mary Jo Mason (Diana Barton) was the first person to shoot Victor with a real gun. She tried to murder him after he intercepted a fax from Keemo warning Jack about this wicked woman. When Victor confronted her, she pulled the trigger hoping he would die before Jack discovered all her dark secrets.

Patty (Stacy Haiduk) was the second woman to pull the trigger. On the day Colleen (Tammin Sursok) died, she shot Victor three times during his rescue attempts. This time, Victor narrowly escaped death and only survived when he received a dead Colleen’s heart.

A Newman Tower Fire
Ian’s first try at killing Victor was big. He wanted all of Genoa City’s elite to bite the dust that day. He didn’t succeed in destroying Victor, but he did bring Newman Enterprises to its knees–temporarily.

A Jailhouse Stabbing
Ian’s distaste for Mr. Newman seems never ending. He also had one of his minions stab Victor while in jail. Victor got lucky and was only out of commission for a few days.

Watch Out Victor!
With eight cat lives down, Victor only has one to go. He better be careful who he crosses, or the next time someone tries to kill him he may not survive.
