Soap Hub Travel Tuesday: Keeping It Simple With DAYS’ Arianne Zucker

Nicole Walker has gone through a series of emotional milestones over the years on Days of our Lives. When she does drama, she does drama BIG. Off-screen, Arianne Zucker, who plays Nicole, keeps things simple when she’s traveling as we learned in our recent sit-down interview with her.

Arianne Zucker Keeps Baggage to a Minimum

There’s a lot of stress that can go along with traveling: making the plans, packing enough (but don’t over-pack), etc. For this week’s installment of Travel Tuesday, Zucker shares that a simple approach works best to get maximum pleasure from traveling.

Soap Hub: Do you have a dream destination?
Arianne Zucker: I’m visiting a ‘bucket place’ now. I’m in Aspen, Colorado. It’s very exciting. I’ve also always wanted to go to Bali. I’ve never gone there.

Soap Hub: What are you looking forward to about Bali?
Arianne Zucker: The shopping. I want to shop at one of those fairs and see what unique homemade items they have. I like boutique shopping and finding things. Finding those pieces that fit you and your personality. That’s what I really want.

Soap Hub: What’s an example that fits that bill?
Arianne Zucker: I love any kind of handmade shoe or bags because I’ll always use them. I’ll wear things down till I can’t wear them anymore. I love finding rugs and/or blankets and throws, things like that.

Soap Hub: Do you over or under pack?
Arianne Zucker: I’m very good about not overpacking. I learned how to ‘camp pack.’ You roll everything tight. I dress around a pair of shoes. So, I’ll have the pair I’m wearing when I’m traveling. I’ll take two other pairs of shoes and then, dress around the shoes. I know how many days I’m gone for. If I find a laundry when I’m traveling, that’s good. I save room in my suitcase if I happen to come across something amazing. If I know I’m not going to shop, I’ll pack up full. I don’t like to check bags. I keep them all on the roller. But that’s harder to do in the winter.

Soap Hub: Do you like to hit the big tourist attractions, or do you immerse yourself in local flavor and hotspots?
Arianne Zucker: We immerse. I love to do that big old boat that 30 people can sit in and you get soaked. [Shawn Christian, who played Daniel Jonas, my fiancé] loves to immerse himself in the environment. I immerse with him.
