Melissa Claire Egan — A Biography
Born in Pound Ridge, New York, Melissa knew at a very young age what she wanted to do. As a child, she was very active in musical theater, singing, dancing, taking classes in New York City. She landed national commercials and a spot at the Ford Modeling Agency.
Egan was serious about her craft, graduating with a BA in Dramatic Arts from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She quickly landed a recurring role on Dawson’s Creek and One Tree Hill, both filmed in North Carolina, before heading to the Big Apple.
In 2006, Melissa scored the role of Annie Lavery on All My Children. She left the role in 2011 and headed out to Los Angeles for the role of Chelsea Lawson Newman on The Young and the Restless.
Melissa managed to juggle other roles in television and film, such as Men at Work, Bones, Somewhere Slow, We Are Men, and Misguided while tackling the role on Y&R.

Melissa works with various charities, including Dharma Rescue, which helps disabled dogs. The Rescue foundation raises money to supply dogs with personalized wheelchairs, and provides training for them to become therapy dogs (www.dharmarescue.org).
Egan resides in Los Angeles with her husband Matt Katrosar. They are very active in sports and love hanging out with friends and family. She stays in shape with regular yoga, dancing, and playing tennis.
