DAYS Star Marci Miller Previews Gwen and Abigail’s Big Showdown

DAYS spoilers reveal that Abigail Deveraux DiMera and her half-sister Gwen Rizczech are going to have a heated exchange this week. Soap Hub sat down with Marci Miller, who plays Abigail, to preview the big exchange that is rumored to result in sweeping changes in Salem.

Soap Hub: Soaps are all about showdowns and rivalries and the dynamic between Gwen (Emily O’Brien) and Abby is certainly one of Days of our Lives’ more intense dynamics. Can you talk about the relationship between these two women?
Marci Miller: Yes. The conflicts are rooted so much in family stuff. Gwen has so much resentment towards Abigail for having the life that she thought she was supposed to have.

Soap Hub: There’s often more intensity when siblings are at odds.
Marci Miller: Yes. There’s this interesting dynamic where Abigail and Gwen are [half] sisters. They share 50% of the same DNA [through Jack, played by Matthew Ashford]. Sisters really just know how to get at each other.

Soap Hub: There’s a bond that doesn’t exist in other relationships.
Marci Miller: Yes. I don’t live near my [real-life] sister but it’s not unusual for us to show up [at an event] where we are wearing the same outfit. We’d each bought what we’re wearing on completely different days. We live in different states. We do weird [coincidental] stuff like that. There’s something about siblings. You’re operating on a different level.

Soap Hub: Abby is strong but Gwen goes places that cross the line.
Marci Miller: Gwen knows how to get under Abby’s skin and she’s not afraid to play dirty. She pulls out hard stuff. It’s so fun to play because Emily is such a talented person. There’s something about her accent and British sensibility — the way it lands [in scenes]. She really kills it.
