Who Did This Little Girl Grow Up To Play On Soaps?

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but we wonder what good is a picture when you can’t recognize the subject? Above is a snapshot of a future star of soaps but can you guess who this little darling grew up to be?

Star of Soaps

Now, obviously this young lady (now all grown up) is currently starring on one of the four remaining daytime dramas – The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless – but that’s probably not enough of a hint.

So try these on for size. She has won not one, but two Daytime Emmy Awards, she played a recurring character on the now-defunct FOX series Melrose Place, and she is a soap hopper – with at least three serials under her belt.

But just who can she be? Is that a photograph of Rena Sofer (Quinn Fuller, BB), Kristian Alfonso (Hope Brady, DAYS), Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis, GH), or Tracey Bregman (Lauren Fenmore Baldwin, YR)?

Rena Sofer

Though she did indeed win a Daytime Emmy (in 1995 for Outstanding Supporting Actress) and despite her appearances in four different soaps – Another World (ex-Joyce), Loving (ex-Rocky), General Hospital (ex-Lois) and, of course, BB – Sofer is not our displeased seafaring child.

Kristina Alfonso

Alfonso was on Melrose Place – where she played the deliciously wicked Hollywood madam Lauren Ethridge and she was a primetime soap hopper, having also co-starred on Falcon Crest as Pilar for a couple of seasons. She also won a Daytime Emmy in 2002 in the fan-award for America’s Favorite Couple with Peter Reckell (ex-Bo), but she isn’t today’s featured star.

Tracey Bregman

This soap veteran began her acting career with a two-year stint on DAYS (ex-Donna Temple Craig) before heading to the silver screen (with appearances in Happy Birthday to Me and The Concrete Jungle).

Bregman’s initial tenure at YR which began in 1983 – and for which she was awarded the 1985 Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Ingenue – ended in 1995. But she was so beloved that she was snapped up by sister-show BB where she remained front and center for four years. Alas, she is not today’s featured star.

Nancy Lee Grahn

She’s been entertaining fans of GH since 1996 – as the always flustered, frequently self-sabotaging, legal eagle, Alexis Davis (or Natasha Alexandra Mikkosovna Cassadine, if you’re so inclined), but that’s far from her only soap role.

Her first was Beverly Wilkes, the efficient secretary to One Life to Live’s reprobate Marco Dane. Then came the part of Santa Barbara’s Julia Wainwright Capwell. That was the one that netted Grahn her first Daytime Emmy (in 1989 for Outstanding Supporting Actress). Her second came courtesy of her work on GH in 20112. She also appeared in seven episodes of Melrose Place as Denise Fielding.

So if you guessed that the unenthused little one might be a young Miss Grahn, then you were right on the money! Accompanying the throwback photo, which she posted to her Instagram account, was a message from the actress explaining, “I’m the one in middle clearly unhappy about my haircut.”
