Several gather in Port Charles with various agendas — one group wants to find The Hook and stop her. The other is looking to celebrate the New Year like there is no tomorrow — because more time is never promised.
Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) is part of the first group, as he and his father Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) meet with Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali), Mayor Laura Collins (Genie Francis), her grandson Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco). Curtis points out that this killer has already claimed too many lives as Marshall wonders when it’s going to end.
Spencer thinks he knows the answer to that — it ends when they find Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl). Trina wonders what if they have this wrong — what if it’s someone they never even suspected — as images of Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West), Heather Webber (Alley Mills), Cody Bell (Josh Kelly), Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud), and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) flash across the screen.
The countdown begins as Britt’s swinging birthday party kicks up a notch. In attendance are her nearest and dearest, including Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati), Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner), Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms), and Brad Cooper (Parry Shen). But when you hear three, two, one — you can see The Hook striking again! Whose life will be in the balance as Port Charles enters 2023? See it all for yourself below.
GH made its debut in 1963 and was created by the husband and wife team of Frank and Doris Hursley, taking place at a hospital but in an unnamed city. In fact, the setting wasn’t named as Port Charles until the 1970s. General Hospital is the longest-running soap opera currently on air.
From legendary Laura’s (Genie Francis) four decades on and off and back on as the show’s leading heroine, to Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) super spy exploits, to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his mobster activities, GH certainly knows how to please their viewers.
More than five decades of gripping drama as well as love in the afternoon have kept this ABC daytime soap on the air and winning Daytime Emmys. Epic romances, action-adventure stories, and love on the run have enthralled viewers over the years.
