GH spoilers tease that Josslyn Jacks managed to make Willow Tait’s medical crisis a little bit more about herself when she recalled her own kidney transplant from years earlier. Which got us thinking.
See if this tracks: Joss (Eden McCoy) got her illegal kidney from Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier). Nelle and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) are twins. Fraternal, yes, but still biological sisters. A sibling is much more likely to be a match than a biological parent like Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros). So if Nelle was a match for Joss, shouldn’t Joss be a match for Willow? (We’ll ignore the pesky fact that those who’ve received a kidney transplant can’t donate; it is a soap, after all.)
Having Joss (Eden McCoy) be Willow’s (Katelyn MacMullen) donor instead of Nina would make it easier for Willow and Michael (Chad Duell) to continue cutting Nina out of their – and Wiley’s – lives. They could keep repeating how awful she is, and how they owe her nothing. What’s she ever done for them, huh? Huh?
It would also give Joss the chance to play the martyr. How much would she love being the center of attention, and the recipient of endless gratitude? Think of the fun she would have, having believed she was at death’s door herself, sneaking in Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) to visit her in the hospital, and concocting wild Romeo and Juliet, you and me against the world fantasies. This would be her dream come true! Because it would be all about her!
The only person who would love this development more than Joss would be her mother, Carly (Laura Wright). She would be in Nina’s face instantly, gloating about how, see they didn’t need her, after all. Carly committed no sin by keeping Willow’s maternity from her because, in the end, Carly’s daughter was the hero. Which means Carly was the true hero. How do you like them apples?
