Though it’s been some time since Billy Miller graced the daytime canvas with his presence, he remains ever-busy. It’s truly a feat worthy of celebrating as is today’s major milestone.

Happy Birthday, Billy Miller

And that’s because he was born on September 17, 1979, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, which means that this talented performer is turning 43 years old today! Upon graduating from the University of Texas with a degree in communications, Miller relocated to Los Angeles, found employment in the mailroom of Industry Entertainment, and began auditioning for every conceivable acting job he could find.

After signing with the Wilhelmina modeling agency, Miller obtained his first big break – a contract to appear in six commercials (including two for Electronic Arts’ The Sims). A subsequent screen test for As the World Turns resulted in an offer of employment, but due to bad management, Miller lost the role and his interest in the profession.

Following a two-year hiatus, Miller tried his hand at acting, again. He quickly landed a guest spot on CSI: NY, which was followed by a contract role on All My Children. Between August 30, 2007, and September 19, 2008, Miller played Richie Novak, Annie Lavery’s disreputable, abusive, and ultimately murderous brother.

When it became clear that the character of Richie was to be disposed of, Miller began hitting the audition circuit and he successfully tried out for the part of Billy Abbott on The Young and the Restless.

With his hiring, Miller became the fourth adult actor to embody the role – and for his efforts, he would go on to win three Daytime Emmy Awards (two in the Supporting Actor category and one in Lead).

After spending six years at the CBS soap, Miller chose to vacate his position, resulting in Billy being recast with yet another actor. Miller in turn joined the cast of General Hospital where he spent five years playing first an amnesiac mistaken for Jason Morgan and then, ultimately, the man’s twin brother, Drew Cain.

Miller’s other acting credits include a recurring role in the Sarah Michelle Geller-led serial Ringer, and episodes of CSI, Major Crimes, Suits, and Ray Donovan. Soap Hub would like to wish Billy Miller a very happy birthday and many more.
