The General Hospital recaps for December 19 – December 23, 2022, featured subterfuge deployed, Holiday cheers and jeers and so much more.
Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) assists a concerned Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) in tracking Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) to her gallery. Ava relays Nikolas Cassadine’s (Marcus Coloma) request for a divorce, his claim that he impregnated Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst), and her intent to take him to the cleaners. Nina warns Ava against going toe-to-toe with the Cassadines… Against her better judgment, Elizabeth agrees to help Nikolas see his plan to deposit Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) on Cassadine Island and abscond with his baby to the bitter end.
Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) concurs when Sonny suggests beefing up Josslyn Jacks’ (Eden McCoy) security. Dex Heller (Evan Hoffer) is tasked with standing guard until other arrangements can be made. Josslyn bristles, but Dex gets her to cop to feeling powerless… Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) severs his personal and professional relationship with Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) once and for all.
Michael Quartermaine (Chad Duell) and Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) learn that they’re expecting a baby girl. Willow fears that she won’t live to see her daughter grow up… Thanks to Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn), Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) learns that the story Denise (Alex Reitveld) fed him about “Joan” isn’t quite kosher and confronts the firewoman.
Denise spins yet more falsehoods to Drew, who’s left with the inference that Willow was taken from her parents by force… Ava confronts Liz and threatens to make her pay for bedding Nikolas. Liz lies about suffering a miscarriage… Nikolas tells Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) that he and Ava are getting a divorce and shares the reason why. Spencer castigates his father for having yet another affair and expresses his desire to distance himself from all things Cassadine.
Josslyn swears to Dex that he’s not the catalyst for her issues with Cameron Webber (William Lipton)… Despite the attitude he receives from her, Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) arranges — with an assist from Mac Scorpio (John J. York) — an impromptu run-in between Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and a clearly troubled Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna)… Nina and Phyllis Caulfield (Joyce Guy) catch up and the latter reveals that she’s cautiously entered the online dating world.
Alexis advises Spencer to accept who he is and to forge his own path outside of the likes of Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy)… Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) and Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) clear the air between them and part on friendly terms… Trina Robinson’s (Tabyana Ali) loved ones — Spencer included — rally around her in the wake of Rory Cabrera’s (Michael Blake Kruse) death.
Dante informs Chase that, due to Brook Lynn pulling some strings, his case is being reevaluated — AGAIN. This seems to move Chase to perform at Rice Plaza as previously agreed upon… Carly works overtime to convince Drew not to raise Willow’s hopes that her biological family might still be out there… Josslyn gets a flat tire.
Chase — and Blaze — take to the stage and perform to an uproarious crowd. Afterward, Chase agrees to follow through on his promise to help Brook Lynn reacquire her songs from Linc Brown (Dan Buran)… Ava and Carly commiserate over unfaithful spouses… Trina and Spencer resolve to bring Esme to justice… Dex lends a stranded Josslyn a helping hand… A trophy of one of Ryan Chamberlin’s (Jon Lindstrom) earliest kills is found amongst Rory’s possessions and Heather Webber (Alley Mills) has knowledge of it. Ryan demands answers from his ex-lover. When representatives from the PCPD come calling, Ryan refuses to communicate with them until Ava arrives.
A blizzard descends on Port Charles. Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) and Laura Collins (Genie Francis) work overtime to get the roads clear… A pregnant woman is forced to seek shelter at the Quartermaine abode. When she goes into labor, Austin deduces that the baby is breeched and calls Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) who arrives in the nick of time astride Brando Corbin’s (Johnny Wactor) motorcycle… Circumstances contrive to allow Maxie to spend Christmas Eve with Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) and Georgie… Laura and Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) bolster Liz’s spirits.
