On Wednesday, a snapshot of Sheree Burton’s Instagram profile made its way onto Twitter, in which she declared herself “Mom of 3…soon to be 4” — but then that last part was later removed. Now her husband of over 23 years, Steve Burton, is addressing it.

The former General Hospital star, who is currently shooting the second installment of Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem in Los Angeles, was made aware that the rumors were out there and decided he wanted to release a statement for his many fans.

“I wanted to clear something up,” he wrote in a statement on Instagram. “Sheree and I are separated. She recently announced that she’s expecting her 4th child. The child is not mine. We are still co-parenting our three beautiful kids. We would appreciate privacy at this time. Much luv, Steve.”

Burton first met Sheree Gustin when she worked behind the scenes as an intern on General Hospital when he was playing Jason Quartermaine (later taking on the name Morgan). They married on January 16, 1999, and they have three children — Makena Grace, born in 2003, Jack Marshall in 2006, and Brooklyn Faith arrived in the world in 2014.

Steve Burton has been a very hands-on dad over the years, with his social media being full of outings he’s had with his children — exploring both the California coastline and their time together on the east coast beaches, as well as visiting arcades, climbing walls, and going to Disneyland.

The handsome actor has been keeping busy with good friend and former GH co-star Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli), touring all over the country in their hilarious comedy show, Stone Cold and the Jackel, since leaving the ABC soap late last year. While the two continued their podcasts during the COVID pandemic, it was great to finally be live in front of fans again.

As shooting for Beyond Salem comes to end soon, no word yet on whether Steve Burton’s character, Harris Michaels, will end there or make the trek (as others like Sonny Kiriakis have) to the mothership show on NBC.
