On the heels of Kelly Monaco’s surprising exit from General Hospital comes another shocker as Chad Duell also announced his departure. He gave no reason for it but explained that his decision to do so was difficult. Executive producer Frank Valentini responded by stating that he wouldn’t recast Duell’s character Michael Corinthos (for now), but promised a fantastic exit for the legacy character. The actor’s castmates responded to the news which has fans devastated.
Duell’s announcement was met with love by friends and co-stars alike. Cameron Mathison (Drew) responded, “Love you brother👊🏼.” Laura Wright, who has played Michael’s mother Carly since 2005 replied, “🥰🥰🥰 Still mad !! But I adore you !!!” Sofia Mattson (Sasha) lovingly reacted: “You will be so missed!!!! ❤️ Excited to see what’s next! 🤩”
His onscreen sister, Eden McCoy (Josslyn), met his announcement simply with, “I love you 🫵🏼⭐️.” Dominic Zamprogna, whose character and Michael’s brother Dante, has had to deal with the exit of his onscreen girlfriend Sam (Kelly Monaco) and with Duell’s surprise announcement, had a hilarious response, writing, “Who wrote this for you…Just kidding. I love you Cheddar❤️.”
