Actor James Patrick Stuart has been a familiar face to soap fans for years, but did you know he has a long history with “General Hospital” that goes beyond the borders of Port Charles?
Stuart made his debut on the series as a lowly Greek fisherman who just happens to have a tattoo of the Cassadine crest. Yesterday we learned “Theo” is actually the notorious and feared Valentin Cassadine, bastard son of Mikos.
Old Home Week on the GH Set
Thanks to his stint on “All My Children” as Will Cortlandt, Stuart found he had several connections to the GH family of actors.
Genie Francis (Laura), who played AMC’s Ceara in his Pine Valley days, “was like a big sister to me,” he told Soap Opera Digest.
“She and Jonathan [Frakes, her husband] used to take me out to dinner and order more Chinese food than was necessary so they could send me home with some, because they knew that I was living by myself,” he shared.
Stuart also revealed a connection to not only Laura Wright (Carly, ex-Ally, Loving), but Kelly Ripa (ex-Hayley, AMC).
“We were all just goofy kids having fun in the city,” he said wistfully.
The actor was also pals with Michael Easton (Finn), when he was working as Tanner on “Days of Our Lives.”
“I remember that Michael got a pilot that didn’t get picked up and he was really frustrated. We all kind of went through that together, as friends just trying to survive Hollywood. [GH] has been like a reunion, and I just really want to connect with everybody and hear about all their adventures,” he shared.
