Soap Hub would like to wish a very happy birthday to “General Hospital” mega-star Kelly Monaco, who has been thrilling fans as Sam McCall Morgan for more than a decade.
Monaco was born on this day in 1976 and got her TV start as “Baywatch Babe” body double before becoming an ABC soap star. She shot to daytime fame as Livvie Locke on the GH spin-off “Port Charles,” where she was paired with Michael Easton (now Dr. Finn on GH).
When “Port Charles” was cancelled in 2003, GH wasted no time grabbing the actress and casting her as Samantha McCall. Sam quickly caught on as a fan favorite, especially after the show paired her with Steve Burton’s Jason Morgan. She remains just as popular today with Billy Miller in the role of Jason.

During her time on GH, Monaco also honed her dancing skills and became the first-ever winner of the Mirror Ball Trophy on the competition series “Dancing With the Stars.”
