If there’s one thing that General Hospital’s Jasper Jax and his portrayer, Ingo Rademacher have in common, it’s a reason to celebrate. For Jax, it’s that he’s escaped the drama in Port Charles. For Rademacher, it’s a major milestone.

Happy Birthday, Ingo Rademacher!

That’s because he was born on April 22, 1971, in Iserlohn, West Germany, which means that this fan-favorite actor is turning 52 years old today. After dropping out of the University of Queensland (Brisbane), Rademacher began modeling to pay the bills.

In 1993, he entered the acting arena when he was cast as surfer Sean Hayden on the Aussie soap Paradise Beach. Upon that show’s cancellation, he enjoyed brief employment on yet another Down-under serial – Echo Point – before relocating to Los Angeles.

Rademacher auditioned for a role on the ABC daytime drama The City and though he wasn’t hired, his reel resulted in him joining the cast of General Hospital. His character, corporate raider Jasper “Jax” Jacks was successfully paired opposite a number of female characters, and his couplings with Brenda Barrett (Vanessa Marcil) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) were of particular note.

Between 2000 and 2001, he was among the 12 principal players in Aaron Spelling’s series Titans – which was filmed during one of his many hiatuses from GH.

A sampling of his other work includes guest spots on primetime programs such as Clueless, Veronica’s Closet, According to Jim, and Hawaii Five-O, as well as roles in both a made-for-TV movie (A Royal Christmas) and a feature film (Alex Cross).

Rademacher – who also enjoyed a stint as Thorne Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful – has been married to his longtime love, Ehiku, since 2009. Together they have welcomed two sons and a daughter.

Soap Hub would like to wish Ingo Rademacher a very happy birthday.
