It’s hard for a woman like Alexis on General Hospital. She’s spent her entire adult life defined by her job, and now it’s been ripped away from her.

She’s been stripped of her law license for at least a year, so she needs to figure out what else she can do with her life. And, as she stated Friday, despite all her cable channels, there’s nothing to watch. So, becoming a TV critic is probably not in her future. So what is? Here are Soap Hub’s top five suggestions for how Alexis can put her year away from court to good use.

Therapist
Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) loves to stick her nose in other people’s business. Just ask her daughters–especially Kristina (Lexi Ainsworth). Why not go back to school so she can become a therapist and then her two cents will actually carry more weight? Goodness knows there will be no shortage of clients in Port Charles. Perhaps she and Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) could form a practice and she could give Laura (Genie Francis) some competition for his affection.

Legal Secretary
No one said she couldn’t work at a law office. Why not go help out best friend Diane (Carolyn Hennesy)? Sure, Diane would have to be the face of the practice, but there’s no reason Alexis couldn’t still put that steel-trap mind of hers to work for clients. Then, the two BFFs could end each evening with a cocktail, congratulating each other on what a great team they make.

Nanny
Word on the street says that Carly’s (Laura Wright) about to fire her nanny. How awesome would it be to see Alexis hanging out at Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) to drive Carly crazy on a daily basis? Sure, she’d probably prefer to spit nails than lift a finger to help Carly, but think of all the fun trouble she could get into. Every time she hears Carly hatching a new ridiculous plan, she could run to Sonny and tell him all about it.

Mogul
Now that Nikolas isn’t around to wheel and deal on behalf the Cassadine Estate, who better to take over than Natasha Cassadine (aka Alexis)? She could make sure that Spencer’s interests are well represented and heck – she could throw in free legal help while she’s at it, as long as they don’t get sued and hauled off to court. Could be a win-win for everyone!
