After a brief dry spell, actor Jon Lindstrom is currently garnering copious amounts of screen time at General Hospital thanks to his dual performance as identical twin brothers Kevin Collins and Ryan Chamberlain. And now, Lindstrom has another reason for feeling festive.
Happy Birthday, Jon Lindstrom
That’s because he was born on October 18, 1957, in Medford, Oregon, which means that this talented performer is turning 62 years old today! Lindstrom was bitten by the performing bug at an early age and after graduating from the University of Oregon he headed to Los Angeles where he studied under the tutelage of such prominent acting teachers as Lee Strasberg and Stella Adler.
His first on-camera role was on the hit comedy series The Facts of Life and he made subsequent appearances on Voyagers!, Square Pegs and Call to Glory. In 1984, he took over the role of Brady Chapin on the syndicated daily serial Rituals.
Lindstrom later appeared in the comedy Rocky Road and the NBC daytime drama Santa Barbara. On the former, he played Jerry Daniels and in the latter, he was Mark McCormick. Guest appearances in programs such as 21 Jump Street, Empty Nest and Baywatch followed.
But it is, of course, the dual role of Kevin Chamberlin and Kevin Collins for which Lindstrom is best known. He first joined the cast of General Hospital in 1992 as serial killer Ryan and then took on the part of Kevin beginning in December of 1993. Alongside Kin Shriner and Lynn Herring, Lindstrom anchored the spinoff series Port Charles which aired from 1997 to 2003.
Outside of his acting career, Lindstrom is known for his musical prowess — as a drummer he recorded the album Feel Free to Do So which earned rave reviews from industry insiders.
He has also written, produced and directed two film projects: The Hard Easy and How We Got Away With It. He has been married to daytime alum Cady McClain since 2014.
