Social media has blown up with the rumors that long-time “General Hospital” character Lucas Jones will meet his May sweeps maker.
GH Executive Producer Frank Valentini tweeted just yesterday that a mysterious death would rock the show.
However, nowhere does he say Lucas is the one who dies. Anonymous spoilers got tongues wagging that Lucas is the body rumored to be found near the docks the night of The Nurses’ Ball.
Of course, that comes on top of the rumor that Lucas will marry Brad (Parry Shen) at the Ball, the same place Brad proposed one year ago. Do Lucas and Brad say their ‘I dos’ and then see a tragic end to their marriage? Or, is it all much ado about nothing?

Other rumors seem to point towards the latter. While it makes sense Lucas could be the target of a mob attack as the son of Julian Jerome, it doesn’t necessarily mean he will die. Indeed, the latest social media buzz is that Lucas only gets hurt, but does live to see another day.
If you look at actor Ryan Carnes’ social media pages, that seems to be the case. Just two days ago he re-tweeted a picture of himself and co-stars on the hospital set that looked pretty recent.

If Lucas does die, GH would lose a character we watched grow up. As the biological son of Julian and the adopted son of Tony and Bobbie Jones, he can easily be considered a legacy character worthy of some good story if he does survive whatever happens next week.
Here’s hoping the rumors are just that–rumors–and Lucas and Carnes remain with GH for a long time to come.
