General Hospital star Emma Samms has reminded folks that the coronavirus is a worldwide problem. The British-based actress took to social media to share her recent experience with the condition.

“I want to thank the @NHSuk (The National Health Service) who looked after me SO wonderfully yesterday,” Samms recently tweeted. “Symptoms meant I had to go to hosp, wasn’t admitted, (thankfully) but therefore no test done. Doctors [were] sure I’m #COVID19 positive but with no proof I can’t volunteer to help #NHS when I’m better. #tests.” (Samms was trained as an EMT — Emergency Medical Technician.)
Ray Abruzzo who played Sgt. John Zorelli, Samms’ love interest in the final season of Dynasty, the primetime soap on which Samms portrayed Fallon, reached out with some social media support for his former leading lady. “Oh Emma,” Abruzzo wrote, “Keep us (me) posted. Get well.”

Samms self-quarantined, which, alas, meant, she was unable to attend an important family gathering. “This is my beautiful daughter Micha,” Samms posted on Twitter. “It’s her 22nd birthday today but she’s on her own and I’m on day 10 of dealing with coronavirus, so I can’t even give her a hug. Please could you all wish her a Happy Birthday? And RT? Thank you. @MichaBPHolloway.”
Samms landed on the daytime map in 1981, tasked with becoming Anthony Geary’s (Luke) on-screen love interest as Genie Francis (Laura) had left the show. By the time 1983 rolled around, Francis returned to the show in time for Luke and Laura to walk off into the sunset. Samms and Tristan Rogers (Scorpio) emerged as the show’s new main duo.
In 1985, Samms did double-duty on both GH and Dynasty for a brief period before joining the nighttime sudser fulltime. She was spun off onto the short-lived series The Colbys and later returned to Dynasty. She also appeared on Models, Inc. Soap Hub wishes Samms a continued and speedy recovery.
