Although Nelle may be presumed dead for now (we really hope she is not dead), actress Chloe Lanier just celebrated a major milestone event.
Happy Birthday, Chloe Lanier
That’s because she was born on November 3, which means that this talented performer turns one year older today! Lanier, who knew she wanted to be an actress since the age of three, made her performing debut in the 2009 drama film The Effects of Butterfly.
Subsequent parts in other short and feature-length films — including Binding Paper, Bad Paper, and North Blvd — followed and she also made guest appearances on GCB, Army Wives, NCIS and Stalker.
In 2015, Lanier portrayed a younger version of Patricia Spencer during two special episodes that aired as part of General Hospital’s 52nd anniversary. Next, she filmed five episodes of Kingdom before being offered another role at GH.
The part of Nelle Benson was written especially for Lanier and the character’s debut was stalled until production on Kingdom had wrapped. Now free to rejoin the ABC sudser, Lanier debuted on August 8, 2016, and three months later she won a role in the independent film Gorman.
Lanier remained at GH until August of 2018, earning the 2018 Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actress, but chose to exit the series in order to pursue other opportunities.
However, she made guest appearances in October, November, and December of that year. She even returned for an extended period after Nelle was released from jail, determined to win custody of her son, Wiley. As far as we know, she fell from a cliff to her death, but is dead ever really dead on soaps?
