Though it appears that General Hospital’s mad genius Cesar Faison is well and truly dead — thanks to a bullet fired by Jason and the machinations of his son Henrik Faison (Peter August; played by Wes Ramsey) — actor Anders Hove is too busy celebrating an important day to care.

Happy Birthday, Anders Hove

That’s because he was born on January 16, 1956, in Greenland, which means that this talented performer is turning 68 years old today! Having discovered his love for acting after taking classes at the Royal Danish Theatre, Hove decided to do away with plans to follow his father into the business world.

His first professional assignment was the 1984 drama film In the Middle of the Night, which was then followed by the miniseries Anthonsen and two more features — Flamed Hearts and The Wolf at the Door, both shot in 1986.

In 1990, he made the decision to relocate to the United States where he quickly found employment at GH. His debut episode as Cesar Faison originally aired on March 19 and he remained at the soap until a storyline dictated exit in 1993. By that time, Hove had also played Faison on fellow ABC soap, Loving.

Though he was kept relatively busy at GH, Hove also found time to appear in the Canadian drama series Family Passion (alongside GH star Kin Shriner, who plays Scott) and the horror film Subspecies. The latter project proved quite successful and Hove found himself reprising the role of murderous vampire Radu Vladislas in three sequels.

Subsequent work included episodes of Tales from the Crypt and The Kingdom, the Cagney and Lacey made-for-TV movie The Return, and the films The Boss of It All and Terribly Happy.

Beginning in 1999, Hove made several returns to GH as Faison including a long stint between 2012 and 2014. His last appearance was on February 1, 2018.

Soap Hub would like to wish Anders Hove a very happy birthday, and you can too by showing your love in the comment section below. Also, share your favorite memory of his work or if you’ve met him personally there as well.
