Elizabeth Webber may have done a bad, bad thing last year to add to her list of other “misguided” acts, but actress Rebecca Herbst pulled it all off with her typical talent and finesse. While some General Hospital fans can’t stand Liz, Herbst is a whole other story.
With no word on whether General Hospital and Herbst have reached a new contract agreement, her status with the show remains up in the air. Soap Hub asked if you want Herbst to remain with GH and you let us know in no uncertain terms.
Out of more than 3,000 votes, a full 76% of you would be crushed if Herbst and Liz bid Port Charles farewell. The actress has been with the show for nearly two decades and you can’t imagine General Hospital without Liz around. She’s a legacy character (Steve Hardy’s granddaughter) and Port Charles wouldn’t be the same without her.

Another 15% are ok with Herbst leaving. You’ve had enough of Liz and her lies, and after she kept Jason (Billy Miller) in the dark about his identity, the character jumped the shark in your eyes. While you like Herbst as an actress, you feel it’s time for Liz to move on–away from Port Chuck.
The final 9% don’t care whether she stays or goes. You know it’s up to Herbst and what she chooses to do with her life and career, and you respect that. Soaps lose popular veteran actors all the time (Tony Geary as Luke Spencer comes to mind), and somehow, the show goes on.
