As if Hope and Rafe’s “Days of Our Lives” love life hasn’t been complicated enough, it looks like another wrench is about to get thrown their way.
We all saw Mama Hernandez summon a mystery person to town recently and next week we learn who she is. Colombian soap star (also known as telenovela) Ximena Duque arrives as Adriana’s (Alma Delfina) friend, Blanca, and she’s ready to stir things up for Rafe.
Rafe’s (Galen Gering) mom hasn’t been happy with Hope (Kristian Alfonso) of late, especially with her wishy-washy attitude since “dead” husband Aiden (Daniel Cosgrove) arrived back in town. Ever the meddling mama, she thinks Blanca will fit the bill just fine as someone to take her son’s mind off his lady love.
Duque admitted to Yahoo News that the DAYS pace was much slower than what she’s used to on telenovelas, but said acting in English rather than Spanish was the real challenge.

Her character might challenge Hope for a bit as she flirts with Rafe, but is she going to be an interloper for the long run?
“I can’t give you that much information, because I want you to see the show,” Duque told Yahoo News. “But yes, at the beginning, [Blanca] was flirting with Rafe, and then ended up going another route, which was great.”
We wonder what that route could be. Might she catch brother Dario’s eyes, still making Adriana happy that she’s with one of her sons? We guess we’ll have to watch to find out–just like Duque wants us to.
