The Travesty That Is Days of Our Lives’ Eve Deveraux (But We Love Her)

She’s corrupt, vindictive, and has the entire Salem police force at her disposal to enact her thirst for revenge on Days of Our Lives, but while Eve sets out to break every law, we can’t help but be fascinated by her every move and that’s thanks to the actress who portrays her — Kassie DePaiva.

Sometimes you have to remind yourself that Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) did actually kill Eve’s daughter. Sure, he seems sweet and adorable with Ciara (Victoria Konefal) now, but at one point he snuffed out the lives of more than one Salemite and that’s what is first and foremost in Eve’s head — how her daughter suffered.

Can we really blame her? There is no loss more horrific than losing a child. We hear that all the time. And yet the man who took Eve’s daughter’s life has been walking around, free as a bird to live his life and have a future — a future that her daughter will never get to experience.

So when Eve had Ben’s arrest fall right into her lap, she savored every minute of it — as did DePaiva. The mix of emotions that crossed her face as she so wanted to do in Ben but then quickly realized he was probably telling the truth was exceptional.

Add to that her need to protect her new surrogate daughter, Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan), the true culprit. She wants to help Claire but she’s doing her no favor holding back key information from the young woman’s loved ones that she needs serious professional help before she kills someone. (She’s already tried twice and failed.)

We understand why Eve is doing this, and we can’t help but root against her because her need for revenge and a misplaced sense of loyalty could end up getting innocent people killed. Yet we enjoy watching her machinations, and we can’t help but be glued to our TVs to see what will happen next!
