The DAYS spoilers recap for Tuesday, September 27, 2022, finds several characters at the end of their respective ropes…and only two of them are pulled back from the brink.

At Chad DiMera’s (Billy Flynn) insistence, Clyde Weston (James Read) relayed what transpired the night that Abigail Deveraux DiMera (Marci Miller) died. Turns out that it was obstinance on Abby’s part — and some lingering issues that Clyde had with her over her treatment of Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) — that sealed her fate.

Chad did not take to Clyde’s blame the victim mentality and did his best to work up the nerve to put down the big bad. Unluckily for Chad, he’s no killer. Sensing that inherent character flaw, Clyde went on the attack and managed to pin his would-be assassin to the ground by his throat.

Just when things seemed grim, EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) emerged from the shadows and pumped a bullet into Clyde. The night, and Chad, were saved. But at what cost?

Jennifer Rose Horton Deveraux’s (Cady McClain) spiral continued at a rapid pace and culminated with a drug-induced visitation from a wraith-like Abigail, who’d apparently come to remind her mother of the damage inflicted upon her. Casper, she very much wasn’t.

Having discussed the matter thoroughly with Matty-cakes, Gwen resolved to tell Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) that his wife was popping pick-me-ups; he did not thank her for the revelation; neither did Jennifer, who, coincidentally, plowed into Gwen right outside the police station!
