The DAYS spoilers recap for Wednesday, October 19, 2022, find Gwen Rizczech much in demand, both in the real world and in her own fractured mind.
Gwen (Emily O’Brien) is doing mighty well physically post-hit-and-run, but emotionally and mentally…not so much. Unless making out with a pillow while imagining your ex-lover professing his undying affection for you is normal. If that is the case, Gwen’s A-okay.
But there are further problems. Gwen has nowhere to go once she’s discharged from the hospital and no way to support herself financially. Enter Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford), who throws her a lifeline — why not come and live with him, Doug Williams (Bill Hayes), and Julie Olson Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes). Won’t that be a treat? No, no, it wouldn’t. But beggars can’t be choosers.
What would be a treat, however, is if Gwen were to team up with Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun), her former partner-in-crime, to wreak some serious havoc. At least, that’s what Ava is hoping will happen next.
Like Gwen before them, Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) and Sarah Horton Cook (Linsey Godfrey) found themselves unhoused, but their crisis lasted for about all of five seconds, seeing as how his uncle and her mother are married to one another and living together in a sprawling mansion. Don’t you just love when problems sort themselves out?

Stefan O. DiMera (Brandon Barash) might not have a love-on for Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) — or does he? — but that doesn’t mean that he wants to hear EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) talk about her like she’s a piece of filth. It also doesn’t mean that he wants to stay married to her…or doesn’t he? Surely there’s a reason he hasn’t signed those divorce papers that he shoves under her nose, right? Unfortunately, once again, an almost warm moment between them gets interrupted by Li Shin (Remington Hoffman)!
Having already socked Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) in the jaw — thanks entirely to a misunderstanding on his part — Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams) barreled into EJ’s office, told him exactly what he thought of him — none of it was particularly pleasant — then socked EJ in his jaw!
Li stepped in and kept the men’s argument from escalating further and EJ from calling the authorities — like a narc! — so EJ, in turn, gave Li’s sister Wendy Shin (Victoria Grace) her dream job. That’ll teach Li!
Opposite the above, Johnny and Wendy solidified their partnership — which is based entirely on bringing the big bad DiMeras down — and the former decided that it would be a good idea to go snooping in his dad’s office. It wasn’t.
