DAYS Lock Up: Does Li Shin Deserve To Go To Prison?

Li Shin thought he’d covered all his bases on Days of our Lives. Stefan O. DiMera was happily brainwashed into forgetting his love for Gabi Hernandez, which meant the path was clear for Li and Gabi to wed on New Year’s Eve.

Especially since he’d convinced his sister, Wendy Shin (Victoria Grace), to keep quiet about what she and Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) found out from Dr. Rolf (Richard Wharton). But then Gabi’s (Camila Banus) memory came back, and all bets are off. Not only is Li (Remington Hoffman) at risk of losing his job — he’s already lost Gabi — but should he be thrown into jail, as well?

DOOL: Salem Justice

No one on DAYS goes to jail for crimes they actually committed — only for crimes they didn’t commit, 6% remind. If Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo) was able to walk free for decades, so should Li. As of now, his crimes are nowhere near the ones committed by half the town.

Li Shin: Judge and Jury

Oh, he deserves it, but 30% of you don’t see how that’s relevant. It’s not just Stefano. It’s Jennifer Horton Deveraux (Cady McClain). And Xander Cook (Paul Telfer). And Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens). And Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk). And EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel). And Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker). The point is, the justice system is permanently broken in Salem. And Mayor Abe Carver (James Reynolds) obviously sees no reason to fix it. Which means Li will walk free.

Bad DAYS Man

However, 64% of voters don’t care about any of that. You think Li is evil. He would have killed Stefan (Brandon Barash) if the brainwashing didn’t work. And evil people must be punished with jail time. Well, at least evil people who don’t come from core families. If you’re an outsider, you deserve to suffer for crimes the locals just laugh off like youthful hijinks. Li is an outsider.
