Days of our Lives Belle and EJ DiMera
The invisible chorus of Days of our Lives was singing, “Barely even friends, then somebody bends, unexpectedly….” when EJ DiMera went from talking legal strategy with his Belle Black Brady to smooching her.
She pulled away…she is still married (even if her husband is having a baby with another woman, but he has a bulletproof alibi for why)…but EJ has never let a little thing like legally wedded bliss stop him from either having – or pursuing – an affair. So should he pursue Belle?
Belle (Martha Madison) needs to sort things out with Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) first, a majority 71% of you insist. If they decide they can’t make their marriage work with Jan Spears and baby Hope Gertrude in the mix, only then can EJ make his guilt-free move.
It doesn’t matter what EJ does or doesn’t do with Belle, 17% of the audience has bigger fish to fry. EJ’s true love will always be Samantha Brady (Alison Sweeney), the sibling who tried to sell Belle on the black market (not the Black Market – see what we did there?) at birth.
It doesn’t matter how far EJ and Belle’s relationship might progress and how blissfully happy they could be together. Once Sami returns – and Sami always returns – she’ll be the only woman for EJ, now and forever.
That’s what we’re counting on, 12% of voters cheer. We want a nice, messy love triangle. Sami is always at her best when she’s battling for a man against her sister. And since Carrie Brady Reed (Christie Clarke) insists on living happily ever after with Austin Reed and their son, Noah, a Sami versus Belle battle will just have to suffice…for now. Ladies, go to your corners…and come out swinging!
