When “Days of Our Lives” announced in March that Martha Madison was leaving the show, it left Salem fans saddened. With the show taping months in advance, we knew we’d have a few more months of Belle, but Madison now tells us the end is near.

When asked by a fan on Twitter when we’d see Belle las, Madison answered September.

The actress reprised the role that made her a fan favorite just last November. Her firing, along with that of actors Sal Stowers (Lani Price) and Brandom Beemer (Shawn Brady), shocked fans. Many speculated that a head writer shakeup last year led to their departure. Dena Higley and Josh Griffith took over from Gary Tomlin in 2015. Then, Ryan Quan replaced Griffith earlier this year.

While an issue with Beemer’s contract cycle brought him back to the set for a few months, the same did not happen with Madison. Alas, we bid farewell to Belle this fall.
