Social media soap fans got a special treat when former “Guiding Light” star Grant Aleksander (ex-Phillip) posted a fun picture from his recent visit to the Days of Our Lives set.
It didn’t take long for rumors to circulate about him possibly joining the West Coast soap. One website even posted a story confirming it was true. On Wednesday evening, the star set the record straight and denied any rumor of him joining the 50-year-old soap.
Either way, Aleksander experienced a reunion over 20 years in the making. The picture shows him with two of his former GL co-stars who are currently on DAYS–Vincent Irizarry (Deimos; ex-Nick/Lujack) and Judi Evans (Adrienne, ex-Beth). The three actors came to fame playing out an intense love triangle back in the 1980s.
Adding to the fun was this tweet from Irizarry, saying how the pic was taken at last week’s “Days of Our Lives” 13,000th episode party.

The Play’s the Thing
While Aleksander might not be a soap star again any time soon, he’s currently working on a play written by former GL castmate and close pal, Michael O’Leary (ex-Rick) called “Breathing Under Dirt.” It stars both men, along with Cynthia Watros (ex-Annie, GL) and Tina Sloan (ex-Lillian, GL), and will run at The Ella Fitzgerald Theater. Watros is reportedly mesmerizing in the role. If you’re in the Maryland area, you can try to catch it during its two-day engagement, Aug. 13 and Aug. 14.
