Gabi’s week goes from bad to horrible on Days of Our Lives. It begins with her losing all hope of ever reuniting with Chad and ends with the duo staring down the barrel of gun pointed at them by Deimos.
First, things take a downward turn in her “relationship” with Chad, when Gabi learns he’s fully re-committed himself to his marriage to Abigail.
“Gabi realizes Chad and Abigail are trying to be a family again,” recounts Camila Banus (Gabi). “They’re out in the square together. They’re doing family things… Gabi sees that. She wants them to have a chance at some sort of normalcy and get back to what they used to have.
Nevertheless, it is hard for her watch. “Gabi’s definitely upset by all this, too, although she doesn’t feel like she has a right to be,” explains Banus, referring to the fact that Chad (Billy Flynn) and Abigail (Marci Miller) are married. “But she does feel like she’s been played a trick on, specifically by Abigail. Gabi loves and cares about Abigail, but is really confused about why Abigail did what she did and wanted everyone to think she was dead. If that hadn’t have happened, Gabi wouldn’t be in the position she’s in.”
Nothing to Talk About
Chad offers to discuss the situation, but Gabi isn’t interested. “We have a couple of different scenes where Gabi bumps into Chad and says, ‘Can we talk?’” notes Banus. “Gabi is like, ‘Talk about what? You’re with your family. You look amazing and happy, and I want you to be happy. I don’t want to intervene. I don’t want to even bump into you, because I don’t want to be a problem.’”

While Gabi’s determined to do the right thing, “inside, she’s hurting,” admits Banus. So she refocuses her energy on her and Abigail’s plan to help their families get the Orwell device they both covet. When Gabi ends up in the Kiriakis mansion and gets the chance, she sneaks off.
Caught in the Act
“Gabi’s trying to look for it, when all of a sudden Chad walks in,” says Banus. “He finds Gabi snooping and kind of interrogates her.”
Things intensify, when the pair are caught by Deimos (Vincent Irizarry). “He asks why they’re there,” notes Banus. “Chad and Gabi try to play it cool, but Deimos doesn’t buy it. It turns into a fight. Deimos takes out his gun and threatens them. He basically gives Chad an ultimatum. He says he’s going to kill Gabi unless Chad gives him the device.”
Protecting Gabi
Chad questions Deimos about “why he’s putting Gabi, this innocent person in the middle of this war,” recounts Banus. “Chad’s frustrated and upset. You definitely see him stepping up to the plate and defending and protecting Gabi the best he can.”
Gabi is quick to take notice, and it means the world to her.
“From the minute that she met Chad all Gabi has ever wanted is to feel loved by him, comforted by him, and protected by him,” assesses Banus, whose Gabi witnesses first hand just how much Chad really does care about her. “So, it’s a great feeling.”
But, unfortunately, being held at gunpoint at Deimos’ hands, doesn’t allow her to revel in it.
