Our Days of Our Lives Take: Tense Moments Punctuated by Lunacy

Friday was literally explosive (Rafe and Hope better live!) on “Days of Our Lives,” but just as some of the acting created gut-wrenching moments, a move by John made us bonk our heads against a brick wall.

In the Moment
Actors Jen Lilley (Theresa) and Eric Martsolf (Brady) did some fantastic work. Theresa lit into Brady, expressing her rage that he didn’t listen to her and cut ties with Summer (Marie Wilson). Instead he kept in touch, and now their son is missing. Brady stared in disbelief, trying to get her off the blame game but the damage was done. The look on his face as he took one last glance at her before leaving… just heartbreaking!

A Mother’s Love
How awesome to see Suzanne Roger’s (Maggie) sink her teeth into some meaty material today. Poor Maggie was distraught that people she trusts like Victor (John Aniston) and John (Drake Hogestyn) could believe her daughter Summer was capable of kidnapping. Sure, Summer’s been upset and has a con-artist past, but kidnapping is taking things to a level she doesn’t believe her capable. Is Maggie right?

John got a lead on Summer – she was in Vegas. Brady insisted they not tell anyone – local police or the FBI — and let him handle it. And John agreed! What?! Unless something has changed, Salem is a pretty good distance from Vegas. That’s a great amount of time in which she could disappear to anywhere in the world. Why not at least alert the local police to monitor her room to make sure she doesn’t leave? Is that really asking too much?
