Days of our Lives News Update: Alison Sweeney Is A ‘Foster Failure’

While Days of our Lives fans can expect a visit from Alison Sweeney’s Sami sometime this summer (Lucas and their daughter Allie arrived today), the actress had a visit paid to her in real life. She announced she was fostering an adorable dog. Soon after, Sweeney admitted that dog wasn’t going anywhere: She’s what those in the animal rescue community affectionately term a ‘foster failure’!

Alison Sweeney Adopts New Family Member

The actress had only recently introduced the beautiful girl to her Instagram followers this past Friday saying, “I can’t tell you what a joy it’s been to foster this adorable, sweet dog for @rovers_retreat ! Thank you @larissawohl & @homeandfamilytv for giving us this incredible opportunity.” It accompanied a shot of the white-spotted dog lounging on a couch.

But by Tuesday afternoon, Sweeney was already swooning over her newest family member. “Welp. We’ve done it. We officially adopted Basil. 🐶❤️ She has brought such joy to our family and we are so thrilled to have her as a member of our family.” She included a picture of herself snuggling the very lucky pooch but also a question for those reading.

One thing the actress neglected to include in her heartwarming tail, um, tale, was the reaction of the rest of the household — specifically furry members. Hopefully, Ozzy and pals are just as happy as the human family members. Soap Hub congratulates Alison Sweeney and her entire family on the new addition!

While we’re not sure when her character, Sami, will be popping up in Salem, it’s a safe bet she’ll have her hands full. It looks like Sami is about to become a grandmother again!
