Get ready for yet another ghostly Jack attack on “Days of Our Lives” as actor Matthew Ashford makes his third appearance this year.
According to She Knows, Ashford brings Jack back to Salem as an apparition during the first week of August.
The actor last portrayed the iconic character on June 20 when he visited daughter Abby (Kate Mansi) in a dream.
He also appeared back in May when Jennifer saw Jack during her night of drug withdrawals.
Third Time’s the Charm
Joseph Adams created the role of Jack Deveraux back in 1987, but was replaced by James Acheson that same year. Later that year, Ashford took over and turned the character into a Salem legend.
Although Ashford first played Jack as a villain, wedging himself between super-couple Steve Johnson and Kayla Brady. He eventually grew to establish himself as a beloved character, with his offbeat sense of humor and undying love for Jennifer Horton (Melissa Reeves).
Under Ashford’s supreme direction, Jack Deveraux morphed from a character that fans despised to one they rooted for as he attempted to redeem himself for his past diabolical misdeeds.
Since leaving DAYS, Ashford has appeared in a number of theater and television projects. Most recently, he’s had a star turn on the hit web soap “The Bay,” which recently moved to Amazon Prime.
