It looks like Steve Johnson’s son with that evil Ava Vitali is heading back to Salem, as news has just come that Lucas Adams is returning to Days of our Lives after leaving the show last August.

Lucas Adams Returns

According to SheKnows.com, Tripp will be reappearing in town sometime in the weeks ahead. This should certainly come as welcome news by his father Steve (Stephen Nichols), who never got the chance to say a proper goodbye since he’d already disappeared when Tripp decided to give medical school a try.

Who knows if Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) has kept her stepson up to date on his father’s adventures (when he thought he was Stefano, etc.), but even more intriguing will be if Tripp attended some kind of accelerated program – making him a doctor in record time – or if perhaps he’s simply transferring to Salem University for the rest of his schooling. (Remember, there was also a time jump, so he’ll be further along than we thought.)

While Tripp was involved with both Ciara (Victoria Konefal) and Claire, the latter is now being played by a different actress, as Isabel Durant has taken over the fiery role from Olivia Rose Keegan. Will these two have chemistry, as well? Or is Claire not the one who will catch Tripp’s eye this time?

There has been much speculation about who could be the father of Allie’s (Lindsay Arnold) baby. Tripp may just be the one, and his return to town may not be a coincidence. Could he have learned that the last place his possible former flame was last seen was his old stomping grounds in Salem?

If he does turn out to be the father, that would pit Grandma Sami (Alison Sweeney) squarely against her Aunt Kayla and Uncle Steve. Could it also cause tension where Steve’s BFF John (Drake Hogestyn) is concerned?

Sure, John’s health is in jeopardy at the moment, but if anything, this gives him even more reason to wake up quickly and get in on the family drama. Will all of this come to pass? Stay tuned. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
