Kate Mansi finished taping her last Days of Our Lives scenes as Abigail Deveraux back in December, and by May, we will bid farewell to her on our screens.
While DAYS has never confirmed it plans to recast the role, word on the soap opera rumor street is that’s exactly what the show wants. Abby is way too pivotal a character to let go, especially as one half of the supercouple known affectionately as “Chabby.”
Soap Hub wanted to know if you’re excited to possibly see a new Abby, and while most feel positive about a new Abby, others aren’t as sure.

Out of more than 7,000 votes, 66% of you look forward to seeing another actress tackle the role. Yes, you love Mansi and are sorry to see her go, but you accept the fact that she wanted to move on and know her days as Abby already came to an end late last year. You don’t want to lose the character and can’t wait to see who DAYS possibly casts.
Another 32% can’t see anyone else as Abby and hope Mansi decides to return one day. You’re ok with Abby leaving town for a while, even if that means Chad (Billy Flynn) remains alone. You just hope Abby gets to live because another death of a beloved character may be too much to bear.
The final 2% don’t even care. You’re not enthralled by Abby and the constant mistakes she’s made and can take her or leave her. While you enjoy Kate Mansi, you know Salem will surive with or without Abby.
