Deidre Hall as Hattie Adams on Days of Our Lives

In 2000 and 2001, Marlena had a doppelganger in town in the form of Hattie Adams, a leather-wearing, gum-chewing, big-haired, uncouth character who was as far from the dignified Marlena as you can get.

As a matter of fact, Deidre Hall didn’t even play her. Instead, Deidre’s twin sister Andrea created the role, the second time she played a Marlena look-alike on the show. Previously, she had played Marlena’s twin sister, Samantha.

Well, it looks like Hattie is on her way back to Salem this fall, but this time Deidre Hall assumes the role.

When Hattie came to town, you know it had something to do with Stefano, because he spent his life trying to replace Bradys (and other characters) with their lookalikes. Dr. Rolf–remember him, Stefano’s mad scientist–was in charge of Hattie, but couldn’t keep control of her.

Eventually, Hattie had plastic surgery to look even more like Marlena, and that’s when Deidre Hall briefly played the role.

Now, Hattie is back and has apparently spent quite a few years behind bars. Hope meets her in prison, and Hattie takes her under her wing. Hope (Kristian Alfonso) definitely needs a friend, so what better friend than someone who looks so darn familiar?
