It looks like the unthinkable is about to happen on “Days of Our Lives” as poor Steve Johnson seems poised to lose his “Sweetness” to a brand-new man.
How can this happen? If there’s one thing DAYS fans have always known it’s the the man with the eye patch and his sweet nurse-turned-doc go together like ice cream and apple pie. They’ve been a staple of the soap since the 1980s, and even with years spent off-air, fans could never forget their epic love story.
Soap Hub asked how you feel about Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) starting a new life with Dr. Fynn (Alexander Bruszt) and you let us know in no uncertain terms.

Out of nearly 3,000 votes, 81% of you absolutely hate the idea of Kayla Brady with anyone but Steve Johnson. You know Steve and Kayla still love each other desperately and Kayla is just trying to protect herself from more fear and heartache. Steve (Stephen Nichols) may be the love of her life, but he’s not exactly easy to live with–especially after what happened with Ava (Tamara Braun). Despite that, you want to see them beat the odds.

A much smaller 14% love the blossoming friendship and romance between Dr. Fynn and his colleague. It’s about time Kayla moved on with her life and found someone new. You feel Fynn fits the bill quite nicely. He’s definitely fun to look at, but also comes with a fun and charming personality.
The final 5% don’t even care. You feel Steve and Kayla’s decades-long on-again/off-again marriage and romance has finally gotten stale. You wish DAYS would have left them in the past so you could remember this pair the way they used to be.
