Days of Our Lives: Why Can't We Say Goodbye to Abby's Beautiful Face?

With Kate Mansi’s final “Days of Our Lives” airdate fast approaching, we were hoping to bid farewell to our fan fave while still being able to see her sweet and beautiful face, but alas, that’s not to be.

With Abby being recast and Marci Miller taking over the role, we guess DAYS wants Abby to eventually have plastic surgery and emerge a new woman. Hence, we’ll last see Abby as a masked woman after suffering burns in a fire later this week.

Soap Hub asked if you’re pleased with the mask story or if you’d hoped for something less creepy and tragic for Mansi’s last stand.

Out of nearly 7,000 votes, 70% of you hate the idea. You’ve grown so attached to Mansi as Abby that you want to see her face one last time before she goes. That’s the only way to truly say goodbye to a character and actress who’s become so dear to our hearts over the last half decade.

A smaller 18% of you think the mask is a great idea. It certainly adds drama and will also explain why Abby looks so different when we see her again later this fall. You feel the recast and new face won’t be so jarring if we understand why Abby is a whole new woman in every way.

The final 13% don’t even care. You’ve known Mansi was leaving DAYS since January and feel her story has been so dragged out, you just want to rip the Band-Aid and end it already. Abby could have been written off so many times over the last few months that mask or no mask, you’re ready to move on.
