Days of Our Lives Adds Batty Ben Spark Into Sweet Young Romance

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) has given Tripp and Ciara their first real roadblock with the addition of Batty Ben — but which couple will shine brighter?!

Tripp (Lucas Adams) and Ciara (Victoria Konefal) seemed to be on the road to supercouple status. They came by it genetically, after all.

Tripp is the defacto son of supercouple Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) — okay, he’s really crazy Ava’s son but still… while Ciara is the daughter of fellow 1980s supercouple Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso).

They were all kinds of cute, dealing with her upcoming future stardom as the New Face of Bella and silly Claire’s (Olivia Rose Keegan) jealous antics. And then Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) had to open her big mouth and remind Ciara she’d been raped by Chase.

Suddenly, Ciara couldn’t handle being kissed or touched by Tripp and pushed him right into the arms of Claire long enough for Ciara to spot them together.

What followed were feelings of being damaged goods that skewed how she felt Tripp could see her — and it sent her reeling.

So much so that she jumped on the back of her rebellious father’s motorcycle and promptly crashed it. Now, physically broken as much as she is emotionally, Ciara has been found by Ben, who is harboring his own feelings of being damaged.

This has so much soapy potential! You can’t get more bad boy right now than former serial killer Ben. Ciara, despite wanting to be seen a rebel in a leather jacket, is really is a sweet good girl. Who better to help Ben redeem himself than the top cop’s in-danger daughter?

If he saves Ciara, would Hope finally relent in her crusade to rid Salem of Ben? Will it strain the close mother/daughter duo? Perhaps the most fun would be if Doug (Bill Hayes) has to take his daughter aside and remind Hope how he was when she was seeing Bo.

Tripp and Ciara are still adorable and will have tons of fans rooting for them, but Ben and Ciara could be a wonderful speedbump on their road to supercoupledom.
