Out Of the Days of our Lives Past: Will Philip Kiriakis Return To Salem?

We’ll admit it, we kind of forgot all about Philip Kiriakis on Days of our Lives. After he tried to frame Brady for his own murder, parents Kate and Victor decided to stash him in a mental institution rather than risk their precious boy going to prison, we kind of put him out of our minds. Until Lucas blabbed to Rex about their missing brother and urged him to tell Philip about Kate’s untimely death. Is this first mention of the prodigal son in over a year the first clue to Philip’s ultimate return?

Philip Kiriakis Could Be A Busy Bee

Philip (Jay Kenneth Johnson) lost his mind and went homicidal due to his jealousy over Chloe Lane’s (Nadia Bjorlin) feelings for Brady (Eric Martsolf). That was a triangle mostly in Philip’s mind. Now, however, Chloe is truly trapped between two men: Brady, who just confessed he only dumped her as a way to convince Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) to save Marlena (Deidre Hall), Kayla (Mary Beth Evans), and Kate’s (Lauren Koslow) lives, and Stefan (Brandon Barash), who knows he was brainwashed into loving Chloe…but still wants her anyway. Our point is: Chloe is busy. If Philip does come back, he better leave her alone.

DOOL Revenge

Kate’s death is what triggered Rex (Kyle Lowder) to seek out Philip in the first place. So if he comes back, he might want to focus his homicidal impulses on Kristen, and stay away from Brady, too. Kristen could use someone going after her who has nothing to lose. This might be a good use of Philip’s laser-focus tendencies.

Days of our Lives Daddy Issues

And then there’s Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston). With the recent death of his portrayer, it seems likely Victor will be killed off soon, too. Where will that leave Philip? And could Victor leave him enough money that he can go after anyone and everyone who once hurt him? That should be a good reason to return – and wreak havoc. Will it happen? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
