Longtime fans of The Bold and the Beautiful know that Sheila Carter began her tirade of terror on sister soap The Young and the Restless. In fact, Sheila’s gone back to Genoa City many times over the years. But she may have taken one less trip there than people realize.
The Bold and the Beautiful Faces of Sheila Carter
In late 2006, Y&R viewers learned that Sheila was back on the scene. However, she was being played not by Kimberlin Brown but by Michelle Stafford (Phyllis). It turns out that Sheila had had plastic surgery to look just like Phyllis — a woman with whom she’d never shared any screen time.
While the story gave Stafford a platform to step into Sheila’s shoes, it didn’t make sense to some as the two women didn’t even know each other. Y&R wrapped it up by having Lauren (Tracey Bregman) kill “Sheila.” Years later, Sheila, played by Brown, turned up on B&B. Should the two shows team up to resolve this lingering mystery? Bold and the Beautiful: Sugar and Sense
There’s no need to address this issue, say about 6% of you. That’s because you’ve already figured out what happened. Sheila’s former partner-in-crime Sugar (Robin Mattison) was the one who had surgery to look like Phyllis and she’s the one who met her maker courtesy of Lauren. Case closed.

Many of you, about 31%, say that yes, you need this mystery solved. Whom did Lauren shoot if it wasn’t Sheila? Does Lauren know that Sheila is back among the living? If so, why isn’t she wondering how Sheila could be alive? She may also ask one day why the Forresters never told her Sheila was back in their lives. This lingering story left viewers with a lot of questions. They deserve to be answered.
The Bold and the Beautiful and the Forgotten
The remaining viewers who responded to this poll, about 63%, say that there’s no need to address this issue. It happened a long time ago. Why dredge it up now? Lauren probably found out off-screen that the woman she shot wasn’t really Sheila and she probably knows that Sheila’s alive and in jail right now. Soaps are only on for either an hour a day or 30 minutes. Characters discover things off-camera.
