Why Bill Spencer Siding With Sheila Carter Makes Sense on B&B

Bill Spencer allying himself with Sheila on Bold and the Beautiful isn’t so surprising after all.

As viewers of The Bold and the Beautiful are well aware, Los Angeles has a new power couple. Bill Spencer has teamed up with Sheila Carter. He not only helped her get out of jail, but the two appear to be in a romantic relationship that isn’t as unlikely as one might think.

Bill Spencer Is Bad to the B&B Bone

Everyone is asking why would Bill (Don Diamont) help Sheila (Kimberlin Brown). Why is Bill doing this? But take a look at the guy. While he has, at times, shown the capacity for great love, he’s also proven to be stubborn, manipulative, and uncaring about people’s feelings or, frankly, their lives.

B&B: Blackmail, Lies, and Infidelity

Bill’s underhanded plays go all the way back to his early days on the show. He tried to bribe a judge at a fashion show and attempted to blackmail Eric (John McCook) into selling him his company. Bill’s not made the best decisions in the romance department either. When his wife Katie (Heather Tom) was suffering from postpartum depression, she urged Bill to connect romantically with Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang). Despite knowing she wasn’t mentally well, Bill obliged. He once bribed some doctors to fake Steffy’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) MRI test results so she’d stay with Liam (Scott Clifton).

Don’t Mess With Bill Spencer

However, as B&B has reminded us, Bill’s actions go beyond errors in judgment and manipulations. Bill has either committed physical acts of violence or orchestrated them, which has resulted in people suffering greatly. Let’s not forget about the time his niece Caroline (Linsey Godfrey) went bungee jumping (sans bungee!) during a heated discussion with her uncle Bill. But don’t take our word for it. We recently saw flashbacks of Bill ordering Justin (Aaron D. Spears) to eject Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) out of a helicopter that was flying hundreds of feet above the ocean. As a result, Ridge temporarily lost his ability to design.

Also, we saw Bill Spencer blow up the Spectra Fashions building so that he could build his beloved skyscraper he called Sky. Bill didn’t bother to confirm whether or not the factory was empty. Because of his ego and his negligence, Liam and Sally (Courtney Hope) nearly died. Their “we might die, so let’s kiss” smooch led to disharmony between Liam and Steffy, which led to Steffy turning to Bill for a romp that nearly ruined the couple’s marriage.

Steffy maintains that Bill didn’t force himself on her, but given her emotional state over losing Liam, Bill could have taken the high road and chosen not to sleep with her. But he made a different choice.

Speaking of Liam, remember when he secretly recorded his dad to try to keep him in line? Bill responded by physically decking his son, causing an open wound to appear by his left eye. Father of the year! There have been other acts of violence, too. He’s stabbed himself with his beloved sword necklace, brawled with Ridge, and gee, we’ve always taken him at his word that hitting Steffy with his car was an accident, but who knows once you look at Bill’s history.

Watch Out, Sheila

Bill also tried to show he was above the law when he tried to cover up Liam hitting Vinny (Joe LoCicero) with his car before they discovered that Vinny set himself up to be killed so that Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) could have Hope (Annika Noelle) all to himself. Sure, his heart was in the right place, but Bill still broke the law.

It’s quite possible that Sheila has bitten off more than she can chew by allying herself with the manipulative media mogul. While Bill’s recent moves have made us fear for the people around him, perhaps it’s Sheila we should be worried about. If she tries to leave him, we can’t see Bill just letting her walk out the door.
