A Critic’s Review of The Bold and the Beautiful: Plot Hits And Misses

When it comes to The Bold and the Beautiful, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days, we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of B&B’s week that was.

The Bold and the Beautiful: A Critic’s Week In Review

Who are we suppose to be rooting for? If it’s the villains, then mission accomplished; a scene featuring Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) and Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan) clocking some of the more smug, and hypocritical characters on The Bold and the Beautiful can not come soon enough.

And if we had our preference for said clocking, it would be a toss-up between Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton). Ridge is just all kinds of awful; but then there’s Liam, who had the audacity to say this about Deacon: “You open yourself up to him, he hurts you. You open yourself up to him again, he hurts you again; because that’s what he does.”

Umm…Liam, you sure you aren’t talking about yourself there buddy? And to top it off, Liam declares that Deacon will not ever come into contact with the children he and Hope are raising; if only Hope had said, “Fine. If that’s the case, then our children will never again see that monster that you call a father. At least my dad never planned to murder a pregnant woman.”

We would suggest Hope Logan Spencer (Annika Noelle) make a stand against her family, but if Eric Forrester’s (John McCook) storyline has taught us anything, it’s that taking a stand against the likes of Ridge, Brooke Logan Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang), and Katie Logan (Heather Tom) is pointless. They will bully you until they get their way.

And Brooke and Ridge might soon be free of Quinn Fuller Forrester (Rena Sofer) – if Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) has his way. So…score one for these terrible, terrible people that we hope will be knocked down a peg or four.

Further B&B Critic’s Musings

* A Little Bit of Research Goes A Long Way: Sheila’s murder of Lance and the mauling she arranged for Mike Guthrie was never revealed to the general public; ergo Deacon would have no idea that she’s used bees and a Doberman as weapons against former associates.

Also, we’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again since the writers at The Bold and the Beautiful have yet to realize their mistake – Hayes is NOT Taylor’s maiden name.

And speaking of Sheila…how does she earn all that cash she’s carrying around? Does she still work at Ill Giardino, the very same bar she and Deacon were drowning their sorrows in?

What do you think? Post a comment!

* Exchange of the Week:

Sheila: Are you insinuating that I would manipulate a situation?
Deacon: Oh no. No, no, no. I’m not insinuating anything. I’m saying it flat out; you manipulated a situation. It’s like who you are. You know, you’re the Grand Poobah of manipulations.

* Line(s) of the Week:

Deacon: I’m sorry, Finn? As in Huckleberry? That’s his name?

* Yes Katie, Bill Spencer’s (Don Diamont) apology does seem very familiar; it’s probably because groveling for your forgiveness (after having committed some boneheaded move or another) has become a nearly annual event. Please show that you have a brain in your head by showing him the door.

And writers, Katie and Bill haven’t been husband and wife for years now.

* What is the point of Paris Buckingham (Diamond White)? At first, it seemed like she would be one half of a budding romantic couple – but The Bold and the Beautiful doesn’t seem too invested in a Paris/Zende Forrester (Delon de Metz) relationship. Then she seemed poised to play spoiler in Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and John “Finn” Finnegan’s (Tanner Novlan) love affair. And now, it appears she’s become the latest object of Thomas Forrester’s (Matthew Atkinson) affection – which can be a very, very dangerous thing to be.

Oh, and how exactly did Thomas come into possession of Vinny Walker’s (Joe LoCicero) apartment?
