When it comes to The Bold and the Beautiful, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days, we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of B&B’s week that was.
The Bold and the Beautiful: A Critic Ponders
I sometimes wonder if soap operas in general — and The Bold and the Beautiful in particular — purposefully troll us from time to time. If that is indeed the case, it’s a dangerous gambit. After all, we can always tune out when we’re displeased, disillusioned, or downright pissed off, and we can even stop watching altogether.
Then again, maybe I don’t know what I’m talking about. Maybe the writers really thought that Hope (Annika Noelle) spending two and a half episodes debating whether or not to rehire Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) was a genuinely interesting plot point that we’d all appreciate. I doubt it highly, but maybe.
Speaking of Thomas, why is it that the scion of a wealthy family can’t find cushier digs than his previous, currently occupied apartment? Oh, that’s right! It’s just so they can justify shoehorning Paris (Buckingham) into Thomas’ orbit/what passes for a storyline on The Bold and the Beautiful these days.
And isn’t it funny how Paris and Zende (Delon de Metz) were all over each other at Christmastime and now their back to just being friends? Oh, that’s right! It’s just so they can justify the out-of-nowhere Zende/Paris/Thomas triangle that will probably last all of five minutes and make absolutely no sense given everything that’s come before.
Further B&B Highlights
* Anybody else worried that Deacon’s (Sean Kanan) “Italian investors” are the mafioso type? I just can’t see many legitimate businessmen forking over big bucks to an American felon — who’s still on parole — just so he can buy a restaurant in Los Angeles, California.

* Can I just say how pleased I was that it was Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) doing her damnedest to talk some sense into Hope where Thomas was concerned? Mature Steffy is so appealing. My plea: please never, ever again have her devolve into that petulant, parent-trapping shrew.
* Given that Hope For The Future’s previous line appeared to be nothing more than flapper dresses and sheets draped over underwear, how bad were Zende and Eric’s (John McCook) designs?
* I said all I needed to say about Bill’s (Don Diamont) “storyline” last week, and I won’t be devoting any space in this column to it, and you can’t make me any more than anybody can make Bill see the light.
