We here at Soap Hub are never shy when it comes to playing armchair headwriter – look no further than our near weekly ‘Wild Speculation’ articles for proof – and with 2023 fast approaching, a few of us couldn’t help but theorize what might be on the story horizon.

We were equally curious to see what you’d most like to happen to, or suspect is in store for your favorite – and perhaps least favorite — The Bold and the Beautiful characters. To all those who participated, I sincerely thank-you.

Below you’ll find a roundup of predictions/wishes submitted by fans and Soap Hub staff alike, including yours truly. Happy reading.

The Bold and the Beautiful — 2023 Predictions

Sally Johnson (Group: Bold and the Beautiful Fans):

Shelia will spill the beans about Deacon and how she stayed with him.

Maureen Brown (Group: Bold and the Beautiful Fans):

Someone will squeal to Taylor that Brooke kissed Ridge on Christmas Eve, then Taylor will feel betrayed by Brooke’s new friendship.

Sandra Leaming (Soap Hub’s Community Manager):

A Taylor and Brooke romance. Bold needs an LGBT storyline. * Thomas to open his own fashion house and have a fashion showdown. * Zoe, recast, returns to LA with Carter’s baby.

Diane Brounstein (Soap Hub’s Editor-In-Chief):

Add me to the list who wants Zoe back with Carter’s kid, explaining why her mom was so against Paris being with Carter

Sherrie E. Smith (Soap Hub’s Senior Editor):

What do you think? Post a comment!

Sheila will still be crazy…and blame everyone else! Why? Because nobody learns anything on B&B. * Katie will find love again. * Steffy and Finn will break up. * Familiar faces will be brought back.

Amber Sinclair (Soap Hub’s Assistant Editor):

Hope/Liam pregnancy. * Sheila kidnaps Hayes. * Brooke/Taylor love story. * Quinn returns. * Flo dies

Michael Maloney (Soap Hub’s Sr. West Coast Editor):

Thomas creates a rival fashion house to give Forrester Creations some competition. Brooke’s revisited by a past love.

A Critic’s Predictions For The Bold and the Beautiful

Stable couplings are the exception rather than the rule on soaps, so don’t expect Eric Forrester (John McCook) and Donna Logan’s (Jennifer Gareis) romance to go untested. There’s a plethora of potential spoilers ranging from a newly single Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) to Shauna Fulton (Denise Richards) to the looming specter that is Quinn Fuller (Rena Sofer).

Then again, Shauna could actually be the balm Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) needs to help him get over being dumped by not just one, but two of his ex-wives. And with Ridge off the market — for the time being anyway — Brooke and Taylor Hayes (Krista Allen) can focus on their budding friendship, their respective careers — what is it, exactly, that Brooke does at Forrester Creations? — and getting their houses in order. If a love match is in the cards for either of them, here’s hoping that Bradley Bell remembers the chemistry between Taylor and Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan).

Like Eric and Donna, Katie Logan (Heather Tom) and Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) will face trying times. Ditto the spouses Finnegan. Between the impediments that are Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown), Finn (Tanner Novlan) being clued in on Taylor’s long ago attempt to permanently rid L.A. of Bill Spencer (Don Diamont), and the yet to be disclosed romance between Steffy and Bill — what will Finn make of that? — these two have a lot on their plate. And wouldn’t it be awful, just awful — and wholly entertaining — if wee Kelly’s paternity was called into question?

Down and out Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) will be neither for much longer, nor will he be pursuing longtime obsession Hope Logan Spencer (Annika Noelle) — that ship has well and truly sailed. Instead, look for Thomas to turn his head towards yet another spoken for lady: Paris Buckingham (Diamond White). And you can bet besotted Zende Forrester (Delon de Metz) will have something to say about that!

Biggest Wish: A renewed focus on the Forrester family replete with return engagements from such beloved characters as Felicia, Kristen, and Thorne.
