Biography

Born Gregory Scott Reeves in Delight, Arkansas on May 16, 1966. His big break as an actor, and in his life, was when he was cast as Jake Hogansen on Days of Our Lives.

He met the love of his life, Melissa Brennan, while taping in 1988. Reeves followed that up with a role as Bruce in the straight-from-the-headlines mini-series, I Know My First Name is Steven.

Other roles quickly followed in Teen Angel II, The Munsters Today, Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan, Edge of Honor, Hearts Adrift, When the Cradles Falls, Chicago Hope, Touched by an Angel, The King of Queens, Waitin’ to Live and Final Approach and Invisible Sister. Ryan even managed to fit in a role as Keith Dilley in Half A Dozen Babies, co-starring with his real life wife, Melissa.

Reeves embraced daytime again with two fan favorite roles, Ryan McNeil on The Young and the Restless from 1991 to 2001, and Dr. Steven Webber on General Hospital from 2009 to 2013. But Scott had another passion and that was for singing. When he wasn’t on a set, he was on a stage singing or at home writing.

After Ryan McNeil was killed off of Y&R, Scott and Melissa moved the family to Nashville, allowing him to pursue music full time. He teamed up with Aaron Benward to form the duo Blue Country. Their self-titled debut spawned four singles that made it to Billboard’s charts. In 2011, Scott co-wrote the #1 song, Made in America, with Toby Keith and Bobby Pinson.

Currently, Scott and Melissa still divide time between Los Angeles and Tennessee. Both their children have moved out of the house and the couple are building a new place. Reeves continues to find the balance between his three loves: acting, music and family.
