Just when Paul and Dylan think they have the break they need to clear Adam’s name, their star witness is gone. “The Young and the Restless spoilers” reveal a tragic suicide will end the life of a young scientist and send Adam’s case back to square one.
A paper trail found by Paul (Doug Davidson) led the investigative team to believe a lab tech was paid to cover things up. The low ranked employee seemed to come into a ton of cold hard cash and spent a fair amount of his riches on a big yacht and a room at The Athletic Club. He went from living on a small salary to experiencing the high life.
Interrogating Alan James seemed to be going well when Paul and Dylan (Steve Burton) invite the young man for a coffee and a chat. They learn all about techniques and tricks for detecting poison, but the tech maintains everything was by the book. It isn’t until the detectives bring up his new found money that things start to go awry.

Alan is visibly shaken as soon as he realizes he’s under investigation and storms out of Crimson Lights. He’s not willing to explain where his cash came from, and tells the GCPD to stay out of his life.
Later, when Paul tries to reconnect with the lab rat and make a deal, he stumbles upon the gruesome scene. Alan is dead in his GCAC room and it looks like a clear-cut case of suicide!
Did the pressure push Alan over the edge or are there other forces at work? If a minion can fake test results, is it possible another could be hired to go in for the kill?
